St. Charles Hospitalists are physicians who manage care for adults and children when they are admitted to any of Hospital's units. St. Charles Hospitalists assigned to adults are trained in internal medicine while the hospitalists who care children at St. Charles are trained pediatricians. Both groups of physicians are uniquely qualified to oversee patients while in the hospital.
St. Charles Hospitalists are available to our patients and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They deliver care from admission to discharge, order and follow up on test results, and adjust treatment if needed. Hospitalists at St. Charles work closely with an adult patient's primary care doctor while pediatric hospitalists coordinate with a child's parent and primary care pediatrician.
Physicians who have referred patients for admission to St. Charles Hospital are encouraged to call our Hospitalists with any questions, any time.
Once a patient is discharged from St. Charles they return to the care of their own physician.
