The developmental pediatricians at St. Charles Hospital's Speciality Care Center are experts in assessing children who have, or are suspected of having, autism, developmental delays, ADHA, ODD (conduct disorder), mood disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, or learning disabilities.
Our experts provide a complete evaluation, including conducting a physical exam, interviewing parents, and observing each child. Children are tested and screened using state-of-the-art techniques in the field of developmental and behavioral pediatrics. Once a diagnosis is made, our developmental physicians employ cognitive, behavioral and psychological strategies, as well as medications, to help children reach their highest potential.
Our developmental pediatricians work with an entire team of pediatric experts to help ensure that each child and parent receives the unique support they need. The team includes other clinicians from St. Charles Hospital's Specialty Care Center and from St. Charles Rehabilitation's outpatient location in Port Jefferson. The ability to visit all of these clinicians in a single location can help reassure and comfort children who thrive in familiar environments.
The developmental pediatric team includes:
- Marci W. Silverman, MD, Developmental Pediatrician
- Pediatric Physical Therapists
- Pediatric Occupational Therapists
- Pediatric Speech Therapists
