Specialty Care Center
St. Charles Hospital’s Outpatient Specialty Care Center provides critical health care services for individuals with chronic illness, injuries and diagnoses.
A comprehensive array of services means that all services are provided and coordinated at St. Charles with no need to make appointments for diagnostic testing or procedures elsewhere.
This one-of-a-kind Center operates much like a physician’s office, offering appointments for adults and children with specialists such as physiatrists (physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation), orthopedists and podiatrists for medical conditions which affect bones and muscles. Specialists in asthma, allergy, gastroenterology, psychology, neuropsychology, diabetes and more are also available for consultation, diagnosis and treatment.
Physician services fall into two categories--medical or rehabilitation. Many patients recieve both types of services.
Clinics are held on a rotating basis and include:
- Adult and Pediatric Orthopedics Center
- Muscular Dystrophy Center
- Developmental Pediatrics Center
- Neurology Center
- Nutrition Center
- Spasticity Clinic
The center is run by a medical director and is fully staffed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare practitioners including:
- Orthopedic Surgeons
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
Ancillary facilities such as a laboratory, X-Ray equipment, MRI, CAT scan and Gait Lab are on-site, facilitating physician’s ability to diagnose and treat these conditions.
The Specialty Care Center is located in a separate wing within the Hospital and is conveniently accessed directly from the chapel parking lot.
