The hospital's in-service volunteers can be found working in all departments within the hospital and at the offsite network locations. They contribute their time for numerous and varied purposes throughout the hospital including directing visitors, answering phones, filing and assisting the nursing staff with clerical with Also, the Volunteer Patient Advocate program continues to ensure patient comfort and bring great satisfaction to families and patients alike. Our Volunteer Dept. continues to work in collaboration with community organizations such as Maryhaven, The American Red Cross and LI Blood Services. We also work in conjunction with community programs such as St. Charles Community Re-entry, Healthy Families Hot Line for the uninsured and RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Suffolk County). We provide an internship program for local high schools as well as volunteer opportunities for local parish religious programs.
