Physical, Occupational, and Speech Language Therapy

Patients will find a team of expert clinicians specializing in pediatrics that will provide one-on-one individualized patient care to assist the child in achieving their unique goals.

Pediatric therapeutic services are unique because of the one-on-one interaction between the therapist and the child/family members. Family participation is encouraged to maximize the outcomes of therapy. The therapists are highly trained in the areas of pediatrics and specialize in the treatment of infants to young adults. The therapists combine their therapeutic skills and creativity to create programs for the children using a variety of equipment, games and toys that allow the children to exercise in a fun rewarding experience.

The therapeutic team work together as a team to maximize the rehabilitative process. The Port Jefferson location has an extensive outpatient diagnostic and treatment clinic with specialists in cleft palate, pediatric orthopedics, pediatric neurology, and developmental pediatrics and muscle tone /spasticity disorders. Our therapeutic staff participates in the clinic to provide insight into the delivery of care best suited for the child. The medical director is on site, as is a board certified pediatric physiatrist.

Early Intervention and Preschool Services

St. Charles also has an early intervention program for children birth to age three, who qualify for therapeutic and or educational services through the county. These services are provided primarily in home with therapeutic services also available as facility based in our main campus area. Our pediatric therapists also provide related services in conjunction with the local school districts to preschoolers who are mandated for physical, occupational and/or speech therapy services as per their IEP (Individualized Educational Plan).
