Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation

St. Charles was founded in 1907 to care for children with physical disabilities. While St. Charles has expanded to become a full service hospital, we have remained true to our mission and are committed to caring for children.

St. Charles host Long Island's only dedicated Pediatric Brain Injury Unit and is one of only a few centers in New York with a CARF accredited Pediatric Specialty Program – an accreditation that is widely felt to be the gold standard in rehabilitation.

Children with brain injury, multiple trauma, cerebral palsy, and other injuries and disorders receive state-of-the-art acute rehabilitation care in our program.

Parents are key members of the  child's rehabilitation team and play a vital role in the creation of the child's treatment plan.  All members of the child's team meet weekly to help guide and modify the plan.
