Outpatient Rehabilitation Director Recognized for Leadership
Laura has been with St. Charles for more than fifteen years and has made a tremendous impact. Since 1999, she has been progressively promoted to overseeing St. Charles Rehabilitations’ eight outpatient network locations. With her leadership, the network received its first CARF-accreditation, the highest accreditation available in rehabilitation. Laura ensures that St. Charles maintains this distinction today. Laura established St. Charles Hospital’s groundbreaking ThinkSMART!™ Concussion Management Program in 2010 in response to an identified community health need. Today, because of Laura’s dedication to the health and safety of Long Island high school athletes, more than 42 school districts participate inThinkSMART!™. In meeting her most recent challenge, Laura has aligned physicians from the hospital’s newly partnered orthopedic practice with St Charles’ sports rehabilitation therapy and ThinkSMART!™ programs. Laura has successfully achieved this initiative in short order, ushering the hospital’s Sports Medicine program into a new era.
