St. Charles Hospital has introduced Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring (CACS), a new screening to detect coronary artery disease (CAD) in those who have not experienced chest pain or other symptoms of the condition. CAD is the most common type of heart disease and increases the risk of heart attack. A high calcium score may indicate CAD.
