Family Ed Program
The Family Education Program at St. Charles Hospital
Learning that you are going to have a baby is an exciting experience. At the same time, there are so many questions to be answered: "Should I learn LaMaze?...How do I learn to breastfeed?...What should I do if my doctor tells me I need a Cesarean?...How will my other children feel about a new brother or sister?"
To help parents to prepare for childbirth, St. Charles Hospital offers a comprehensive Family Education Program that can help to ease many of the fears and anxieties that parents might have. By learning as much as possible about childbirth, parents have a much greater sense of security about the birth of their child and know what to expect. Our Family Education Program offers the opportunity for the entire family to become involved in the parent-child bonding process. Knowledge of what to expect is one of the key elements to having a positive childbirth experience.
Together, with the dedicated team of healthcare professionals in Maternal/Child Services, the Family Education Program strengthens St. Charles' commitment to offering the highest-quality, family-centered maternity care to our community.
