Care by physicians board certified in rehabilitation medicine
St. Charles Rehabilitation physicians are physiatrists, doctors who specialize in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). In addition to board certification in PM&R, they hold certifications in sub-speciality areas of rehabilitation (such as brain injury and stroke). St. Charles physiatrists oversee the care of each patient while also participating in research in their field.

24-hour rehabilitation nursing care
The rehabilitation team at St. Charles includes certified rehabilitation registered nurses (CRRN). To obtain their CRRN certification,
St. Charles nurses demonstrate knowledge, experience and commitment to excellence in comprehensive care for people with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses in all specialties and settings of rehabilitation.

Core therapies provided a minimum of three hours a day, five days a week (physical, occupational and speech language)
St. Charles Hospital offers acute care rehabilitation. This means that patients participate in core therapies three hours every day, five days a week. Sub-acute facilities, such as nursing homes, are not required to provide this. LEARN MORE

Comprehensive treatment plans, customized for each person's needs

Patient care plans are developed to address each individual's abilities upon admission while also getting them where they want to go.
